How can shy people advantage in networking?

Everybody knows that we love to talk about ourselves. We are the most interesting person we know.

What is the biggest part of our decision to do business with someone? We unconsciously think, "Do I like this person?" We love doing business with people we like.

Now, think about our prospects. They are more likely to join us, or buy from us, if they like us. This is not rocket science.

So if we want someone to like us, all we have to do is listen to them talk about themselves.

This is easy and natural for shy people. Shy people are okay with letting the other person talk. And that is why most people like shy people.

Who has the disadvantage? Talkative, outgoing people. They talk too much about themselves, and prospects aren’t interested in them. Prospects are interested in themselves.

I am often asked this question by new distributors: "Do I have to be outgoing to be successful?"

My answer is, "Only if you want to start with a handicap."
